STOTT PILATES® is a contemporary approach to the traditional movement method pioneered by Joseph Pilates. Modern exercise science, biomechanics principles, and spinal rehabilitation practices have been incorporated to make STOTT PILATES® an extremely safe and effective movement practice. The exercises are designed to restore the natural curves of the spine, while increasing muscle length and strength, balance, mobility, and alignment, while reducing chronic pain and fatigue. 

STOTT PILATES® is excellent for every body. Due to the depth and breadth of exercises, equipment, and modification options, STOTT PILATES® is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels, and can be used for injury rehab, athletic conditioning, or everyday fitness.

STOTT PILATES® Basic Principles

In each session, we practice 5 Basic Principles that are the foundation of the STOTT PILATES® method. The Basic Principles are key to performing the exercises safely and effectively, and show you how to breathe properly and position your body in each exercise. As you embody the principles, you not only become more aware of your “core”, but also experience more effective workouts.

The 5 Basic Principles are:

  2. Pelvic Placement

  3. Ribcage Placement

  4. Scapular Movement & Stabilization

  5. Head & Cervical Spine Placement

In your first Private session, we will dive into the 5 Basic Principles, and each subsequent session will be designed keeping these important principles in mind.

Private sessions utilize a wide range of equipment including the Reformer, Cadillac Tower, Mat, and small props, and you’ll never do the same workout twice! Sessions are customized to YOUR needs based upon your postural analysis, fitness goals, and the correction of muscular imbalances. Sessions are 50 min, and have a 24hr cancellation policy.

Mat pilates private sessions

If you’re not quite ready for the Reformer, a Mat Pilates Private session is the perfect choice! Sessions are customized to YOUR needs based upon your postural analysis, fitness goals, and the correction of muscular imbalances. Exercises include those from the STOTT PILATES® Mat repertoire, as well as functional strength exercises to strengthen and lengthen the muscles. We will provide a mat and small props (core ball, resistance bands, light weights). Sessions are 50 min, and have a 24hr cancellation policy.

REFORM + REIKI

The Reform + Reiki session powerfully combines the mind-body balancing of a private Pilates movement session (using the complete repertoire of Pilates equipment) with the energetic balancing of a Reiki Energy Healing session. We often choose intense cardio workouts to reduce stress; however, a practice tailored to increase core, leg/glutes, shoulder, and back-body strength, while improving flexibility, posture, and body awareness could potentially be more beneficial. Combined with the calming experience of Reiki, you get to powerfully move energy while restoring your mind, body, and spirit. An excellent option for those working with injuries, trauma, or who are in need of emotional healing. Sessions have a 24hr cancellation policy.
